A Strategic Innovative Board (SIB) has been established to accompany the progress of the project, advise on project execution, dissemination and training needs and to support the consortium in the advocacy of EURAKNOS policy recommendations. The SIB provides also strategic advice to EURAKNOS to maximise the impact of its outcome on the end-users, farmers and foresters, and advisers. The SIB works closely with the Management Board of EURAKNOS through meetings and workshops and base its strategic advice on links with national, regional and international initiatives and the outcomes of the assessments of the KIP. The SIB interacts regularly with the Coordinator and the Management Board in order to give continuous feedback on the adequacy of the project’s research approaches towards the generation of exploitable results and recommendations. Eight members were selected at the start of the project based on their expertise as representatives of European and international organisations with interests in open source knowledge reservoirs (databases), and/or with strong links to agricultural practitioners and advisors. The SIB is the main source of neutral advice for the project.
